Investing in Environment and Fight Against Climate Change

Location: Online Zoom

Climate change and environmental degradation are currently having wide-ranging impacts on ecosystems, the economy, on human health and well-being of citizens in Europe and the world. Vocational education and training play a vital role in developing adequate skills, attitudes, and behaviours on climate change and in supporting sustainable and inclusive development. The European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) has been actively involved in projects and advocacy initiatives aiming at mainstreaming green skills in education and training and fostering sustainable consumption patterns. It currently supports the green transition and VET communities in becoming agents of change towards sustainable development and combatting climate change through the implementation of various EU funded projects.

In the framework of its VIP-NET programme (Visibility, Policy engagement, Network Strengthening), EVTA is organizing a series of online events “Coffee Breaks“ aimed at exploring how education and training can contribute to the achievement of the 4 European Commission priorities included in the Erasmus + programme. These events have the objectives to raise awareness on the priorities, give visibility to best practices, and foster cooperation between VET providers and stakeholders, adopting a peer-to-peer perspective.

During the “Investing in Environment and Fight Against Climate Change” event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the framework established by the European Commission to fight against global warming and foster green education. The event will feature presentations from EVTA and its members who will share best practices and projects related to green skills development, sustainable growth, and awareness-raising about the fight against climate change in the VET sector.

The event will be moderated by Clara Agostini Campista, EU Development and Project Officer at EVTA.
