PROJECT DESCRIPTION
SpaceVantage is a European Alliance that brings together education, training providers, universities, industry and innovation actors to close the skills gap in the space downstream sector.
The project focuses on digital, green and deep-tech skills needed for space data applications (such as Earth observation, AI, sustainability, and advanced digital systems). It connects education and industry through modern curricula, work-based learning, micro-credentials, entrepreneurship support and career pathways, ensuring that learners and professionals are prepared for real jobs in the evolving space economy.
OBJECTIVES
Identify current and future skills needs in the European space sector
Develop flexible, modular curricula aligned with industry needs
Introduce work-based learning and industry-academia collaboration
Support entrepreneurship and innovation in space data applications
Create micro-credentials and skills validation pathways
Strengthen career development and employability in the space sector
Ensure long-term sustainability and policy relevance of project results
RESULTS
- A European space skills intelligence and strategic framework
- Modular training programmes integrating digital, green and deep-tech skills
- At least 15 micro-credentials aligned with EU qualification frameworks
- Industry-academia exchange programmes and space career events
- Innovation challenges and entrepreneurship support tools
- A virtual European space education community
- Policy-relevant outputs to support education-industry alignment
