EVTA kicks off the DIGICARE project: boosting digital skills for social inclusion
We are pleased to announce that European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) has officially begun its work in DIGICARE – Digital Competences for the Improvement of Social Intervention Actions in Risk of Exclusion Contexts, a new Erasmus+ cooperation project focused on strengthening the digital capacities of professionals working in social intervention.
Co-funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, DIGICARE brings together organisations from Germany, Belgium, Spain, and Italy to address a pressing challenge: how to better equip social intervention professionals with advanced digital competences—particularly in data management and artificial intelligence—to improve the effectiveness and impact of their work with people at risk of social exclusion.
Why DIGICARE?
Social intervention organisations play a key role in supporting disadvantaged communities across Europe, yet many still rely on manual processes and lack access to tailored digital training. DIGICARE responds to this gap by developing practical, needs-based digital training resources that help professionals:
collect and manage data more effectively
use AI-supported tools for analysis and decision-making
design and evaluate evidence-based social interventions
By doing so, the project contributes to Europe’s wider digital transition while ensuring that inclusion and social cohesion remain at the core of innovation.
What will the project deliver?
Over its 24-month duration (September 2025 – August 2027), DIGICARE will produce a set of open and accessible resources, including:
Open Educational Resources (OERs) showcasing best practices in social intervention
Training modules on data management and AI applied to real social intervention contexts
Practical recommendations for integrating these resources into VET and CVET programmes
A web-based training platform hosting all materials for self-learning and institutional use
These outputs are designed to be directly usable by VET providers, social intervention organisations, and professionals already active in the field.
EVTA’s role in DIGICARE
As the European network representing VET providers, EVTA plays a key role in bridging innovation and training practice. Within DIGICARE, EVTA contributes by:
supporting the design of training frameworks aligned with VET and CVET needs
developing guidelines for integrating digital competences into curricula
ensuring wide dissemination and uptake of results through its European network
connecting project outcomes with policy discussions on digitalisation and skills
Thanks to EVTA’s outreach capacity, DIGICARE results will reach VET providers, trainers, and policymakers across Europe.
A strong European partnership
DIGICARE is coordinated by AMANDLA EduFootball e.V. and brings together a diverse consortium including social intervention organisations, a university, and communication and digital experts. This cross-sector collaboration ensures that the project remains grounded in real practice while benefiting from strong pedagogical and technological expertise.
